Languages
Introduction to languages in ConSol CM
Languages define which languages are available for labels, and localized names and descriptions of custom-defined elements in the Web Admin Suite. In the Web Client and CM/Track, these elements are displayed in the user’s browser language if it is configured as system locale. If the user’s browser language is not configured as a locale in ConSol CM, the elements are displayed in the default locale.
The predefined part of the user interface, i.e. everything which is not defined during the configuration of the ConSol CM system, is displayed either in English or in German.
Basic tasks
Managing languages
Languages are managed on the Languages page of the Web Admin Suite. The following actions are available:
-
Add a new language
Click the New language button above the list of languages and select one or several languages to add. -
Change the default language
You can select one language as the default language by clicking the Set as default icon. For this operation, you can choose whether localizations for the new default language should be generated automatically. If the option Set internal name for missing default translations (may be a long-running operation for large systems) in the confirmation window is selected, the internal name of an element is automatically written to the localized name in the default language, if no localized name is set. You can deselect the checkbox to proceed without generating localizations.Generating default localizations may take a significant time on larger systems with lots of missing translations. If no default localizations are generated, missing localizations must be entered manually for the system to work correctly.
-
Delete a languages
You can delete a languages by clicking the Delete icon.
Adding or removing a languages causes all cases, contacts and resources in the system to be re-indexed. This can have a significant impact on system performance.
